Me

Me

This is my first piece of advice for you: if you are going to ask someone for advice, know a little bit about that person.  It is important to know where your advice is coming from.

My name is Astrid, that much I assume you already know.  Here is your second fact about me: I love tea.  So how about I put a kettle on and we share a virtual cup of tea while we get to know each other a bit better.  I am having rose hip; what would you like?

I was raised by a single mother.  My mother made a quiet living selling clothes that she handmade.  My father was a musician.  I have never met him, but I think he was the love of my mother’s life.

I love the Beatles and was named after Astrid Kircherr, the German photographer who snipped the Beatles into their moptops.  Favorite Beatles album?  Rubber Soul.

I also love oranges, orchids, red lipstick, retro sunglasses, and manatees.

Here are a few things that you will hear me say over and over again:

-Anything is possible, but not everything is probable.  In other words, hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

-“Have you talked to him/her about it?”  I think many people would never ask me questions at all if they talked to the person they were having a problem with directly first.  This would simultaneously make me proud, and a little bored (no questions to answer!).

-As much as it sucks right now, and as much as you don’t believe it right now: you will get over it.  And you will come out better on the other side.
